DMS is able to undertake Specialist Consultancy work to determine the extent and location of excess moisture levels in buildings through leaks or other escape of water incidents. We are also available to carry out Thermal Imaging and Leak Detection, as well as carrying out Salts Testing to determine the nature of rising damp within buildings.

We also carry out extensive ERH (Equilibrium Relative Humidity) studies whereby by a 16mm hole is drilled within the affected substrate and a humidity sleeve is inserted and equilibrium relative humidity readings are taken to determine the moisture content of the material in question. This is essential after a leak or flood to correctly manage and remediate excess moisture that has found its way into the structure. This information will be used to determine the optimum Drying Plan taking into account equipment, drying times and energy usage.

It is essential that the areas are properly dry not just dry on the surface before reinstatement works are carried out.

All of our survey work is carried out strictly in accordance with PAS 64 and takes into account the moisture measurement thresholds for floor finishes laid down in British Standards 8201, 8203, and 5325.

We also undertake leak detection, and mould surveys to determine the extent and cause of mould growth within properties.

At DMS not only do we deal with the after-effects of property disasters such as floods/fires and other perils, but we also assist with Disaster Management Planning and can write an assist with a formal Disaster Management Plan for the business.
